Green Event Shop’s BagasseWare® plates, platters and bowls are arguably the best green alternative for “disposable” service ware . BagasseWare® is made from a renewable, sustainable plant resource—sugar cane fiber pulp left after the juice has been extracted from the sugar cane stalk. The sugar cane fiber pulp is pressed at high pressure and temperature to a mold form. It is sterilized and sanitized in conformance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines. BagasseWare® products are extremely sturdy and will hold full, heavy portions without bending or leaking.

BagasseWare® products reduce greenhouse emissions in three important ways.

1) As sugar cane grows it absorbs CO2.
2) BagasseWare® reuses fiber pulp that has traditionally been considered waste that was burned in the fields releasing carbon into the air.
3) The production of BagasseWare® requires less fuel and emits fewer greenhouse gases than the production of traditional disposables made from plastic, Styrofoam or paper.

BagasseWare® is 100% biodegradable and compostable. It becomes mulch in 30-60 days—at the same rate as garden waste in a home-composting system. It degrades faster in municipal composting facilities.

BagasseWare® is sturdy, attractive and suitable for both hot and cold items. It is microwave and freezer safe, and can handle hot liquids up to 190º Fahrenheit.

BagasseWare® is made in China. The factory pays its workers fair living wages according to living standards in China, and provides housing, regular meals and regular hours for its workers.
